  • To schedule an appointment, please use the “Contact” page to complete a request or call/text us at 830.312.7921. We are ready to match you with a provider and support your needs.

  • Every provider is a little different, but your initial session is a time for you to help your therapist get to know you and for you to get to know them. A powerful therapeutic alliance cannot be built in a day, so questions will be asked, exploration will take place, and a goal will be discussed to best suit your needs.

  • Standard sessions are 53 minutes though certain services (like intensives) may run longer.

  • Yes. You can choose the option that works best for you—either in our New Braunfels office, our Houston office, or through secure video sessions from the comfort of your home.

  • Yes. Some of our providers are available for evenings and weekends. Please let our office staff know your preference when scheduling.

  • Yes. A strong therapeutic fit is important. If you feel your therapist isn’t the best match, we’ll gladly connect you with another provider on our team.

  • Yes. Your privacy is at the top of the list and is always managed with HIPAA compliance.

  • There are a few situations where we are legally required to break confidentiality, such as imminent danger to self/others, suspected abuse or neglect of children or vulnerable adults, or a court order. We are more than willing to discuss these special circumstances with you.

  • As a private practice, we do not function as a crisis center. If you’re in immediate danger, please call 911. You can also text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline or text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Texas Line.

  • Short answer: we’ve grown! As a company, we use Living Tree Counseling Center to encompass everyone, but New Braunfels is our headquarters where we use the name Living Tree New Braunfels Counseling Center. In Houston, we’re Living Tree Houston Counseling Center. Our goal is to serve the community of Texas, so we meet our clients where they are with a name that suits their city.

  • We serve the entire community of Texas via telehealth, but we currently have 3 physical locations in New Braunfels, TX & 1 in Houston, TX. Our addresses can be found to the right of this FAQ sheet as well as by clicking on the “Locations” button at the bottom of the site.

  • You’ll need a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a smartphone, tablet, or computer with camera and microphone. The link for your session is found inside your client portal.

  • No, we do not prescribe medication. However, we work closely with local physicians and psychiatrists and can provide referrals if needed.

  • Please contact us to discuss your specific situation. We handle these on a case-by-case basis.

  • Short answer: yes. Our practice makes it a point to be accessible. While we cannot ensure that we are in-network with 100% of insurance providers, we work diligently to keep up to date with our partnership with insurances, and we currently accept all major insurance providers, all major EAPs, Medicaid, Medicare, and Triwest/Tricare.

  • We want to be accessible, so we offer a wide range of options for services. If you do not have insurance, we provide rates for each of the types of providers as well as a sliding scale option based on pay stubs. The cost ranges from $10-$150 per session depending on each person’s situation.

  • All major credit & debit cards, HSA/FSA, and certain electronic payments.
